| Tasting Notes: | Our 2007 Scott Ranch Syrah showcases the pure varietal expression of Syrah grapes grown on a mountain-slope site in the Sonoma Coast appellation. This wine exudes a sense of place, with its exceptionally deep aromas and flavors that express ripe black-cherry pie and plum. Loads of velvety tannins frame the bold, dense, dark-fruit flavors as they expand across the palate and persist on the finish. Nuances of spicy toasted-vanilla from new oak, and an elusive hint of barbecued brisket, add complexity. |
| Winemaker Notes: | 2007 was a winemaker’s vintage. The growing season was consistent and mild. The weather during the final stages of ripening was perfect. Notable on the Acacia estate was our lack of irrigation. Following two seasons of low rainfall, our reservoirs were dry, and we did not irrigate our vines during the growing season. Our wines show great concentration and character, and fortunately, winter brought heavy rain. |
