Acacia Vineyard Rose of Pinot Noir Carneros 08

This is an enjoyable and refreshing rosé made from Pinot noir. The grapes were grown on the Acacia Estate Lone Tree Vineyard, picked by hand, then crushed and de-stemmed into a stainless steel tank. Over the course of the night, the grape juice absorbed color, aroma and flavor from the grape skins. The next day, the delicately colored juice was drained into neutral French oak barrels. By fermenting this wine at cool temperatures, we retained the sweet fruit aromas, while allowing the subtle estate terroir character to remain. Crisp, but with some viscosity, this wine is wonderful when served chilled, and can make an average Sunday lunch memorable.
