| Vintage: | 2008 |
| Varietal: | Chardonnay |
| Appellation: | Carneros |
| Tasting Notes: | The 2008 Winery Lake Vineyard Chardonnay displays its classic character: a subtle mineral intensity, complemented by aromas of pear tart and dried apricot. On the palate, the wine has a lovely viscous texture and finishes light and clean. The grapes were harvested at night and during the early morning hours to ensure low temperatures to preserve their vibrancy and fragrance. All grapes were whole cluster-pressed and barrel-fermented for 10 months. Sur-lie aging and barrel stirring ameliorated the wine’s texture and increased the aroma complexity. The wine was bottled in August 2009. For those of you who follow our vintages carefully, this 2008 Winery Lake Vineyard Chardonnay is returning after a yearlong hiatus. |
