Vintage 2013
Wine Type Red
Varietal Pinot Noir
Region Sonoma Coast
Winemaker Matthew Glynn

We harvested this Pinot Noir from a unique site on the eastern slope of the mountains along the Sonoma Coast. Thornton Vineyard’s excellent exposure and carefully selected clones foster wine with exceptional fragrance and palate richness. Wild-yeast fermentation and aging in 100-percent French oak barrels for more than seven months enhance the earthy terroir complexity of this Pinot Noir’s seductive berry and violet character.

The 2013 vintage began with a warm, dry spring that brought early bud break and created ideal conditions for flowering and fruit set. With no surprises throughout the growing season, temperatures were consistently favorable and even, resulting in notably healthy vines as fruit began ripening. The overall dry season made for one of the earliest and condensed harvests in recent memory.
