This special bottling of Acacia Vineyard Reserve Pinot Noir was hand-crafted from some of our best Pinot Noir wines. These small lot wines are harmoniously blended to create a complex and inspiring blend. It opens with aromas of ripe raspberry, rose oil, and cedar, followed by rich flavors of sweet red plum and toasty brown spices from 10 months French Oak barrel aging. A smooth and enjoyable wine with dark satsuma plum aromas combined with hints of blackberries and French oak barrels. The wine has a pleasing richness and a long finish. This full-bodied wine pairs well with grilled lamb and mushroom risotto.
The 2013 Reserve blend was made with wines from the Winery Lake Vineyard and the Lone Tree Vineyard. We selected 3 barrels of clone 777 from Winery Lake Vineyard, that was grown in the prized, top-corner of block #1 – where the soil depth decreases to about 22 inches. The vines struggle to grow and the wine always has personality. The Lone Tree Vineyard barrels contain selections from prized Pommard and Hanzell clones. This full-bodied wine pairs well with grilled lamb and mushroom risotto.
